OK, this might sound like a really silly question BUT...

I have never had a lowered car, and have recently bought eveything I need to do so. (coilover, ties, toes, tension...etc)

I wont be slamming the car too much but it will enough that the floor jack that I have now wont fit under the car at the point where I usually jack it up.(differential for the rear, middle of front suspenion in front)

So short of using a lift, what technique or equipment do I need to use to get under the car when I need to. Maybe one side then another as opposed to front to back? And then there is the jack. Do they make ones w/ really low profiles so it can get underneath a lowered car?

I haven't installed my coilovers yet and I already think I might have problem after installing the front, and then moving to the back b/c the drop wont allow for me to jack up the rear. The coilovers are adjustable, so do I keep the ride height higher while working on the car and then ajust it after everything is installed? How do guys change tires at the track?

You make ramps out of 2x4's. That's the only way I can get even my low profile jack underneath my car.=)

werd. to make a ramp just take 2 2x4's and cut one shorter and ducttape them together. =====-----

That's what I do. It's oh so simple and stupidly effective.

i jack the car up with the spare tire jack on the rear tow hook a couple of inches to get the jack underneath.

So I jack it up with two different jacks, kinda tedius but works. BTW my rear is pretty friggin low.

Damn how far have you guys lowered your cars? my car is lowered about 1.75 up front and 1.5 in back (a hair less than 3 finger gap all around), and with a sears floor jack, I still have like 1.5 inches clearance for the diff, and .5 for the front. Lowering more than that seems kinda excessive, unless your going for the look

Edit: but yeah, ive heard the 2x4 thing works very well. Do you guys have bodykits that are giving you issues?

I dont have a body kit, and I dont really know what kind of drop I will be dealing with. Something reasonable. I have 98 se. I haven't even installed my coilovers yet, will be getting into it this afternoon. I'll post some before and after pics. I got all new hardware, RUCA, Toe, Tie, Tension, Subframe spacers...My 240 is going to be one mis-aligned POS for a day or two.

Im working with some basic tools; floor jack, hand tools. I have some rhino ramps but I think they might be too steep. I have lots of extra 2x4 though. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah I checked these out. I think they may be exactly what I need. Didnt' even think they made ramps for this type of application. Thanks!

No problem. they worked great on my S13 for lifting it, since it was loewed and i refused to buy -another- freaking jack to get under the car.

Not too expensive really, just make sure you put them on a surface where they won't slip easily...painted concerete make them slide a bit :/
