It's the led that you all (sedan at least) have a hole for in your overhead console. Only SL with leather trim has the actuall bulb in there. It light up your stick shift are and part of passenger's seat. Don't have any good pictures of what it does but it does add that "classy", "luxury" feel to your car. Here's other member's (Rupp) pictures btw:

Led bulb i got came off salvaged 2.5SL with leatherThe only numbers on it are>PBT< andA-11

Since mine came off salvaged car i got these 2 wires with it, i'm sure if u order it from Nissan wires will not be included.

Sorry for "shaky" pics but it's a small part and that's the best my camera can do with it.

Here's write-up:

Splice/tap your "hot" wire to iluminate wire in the back of your stereo. It's orange. What u see on this pic are 2 orange wires. 1 is for my DNX, other is stock. Blue is what i used for my hot wire.

Run your hot from the back of the stereo to under the steering wheel and then to A-Pillar.

Ground your ground wire (I used green) in A-Pillar. There's a perfect ground screw just waiting to be used. Second green wire u see there is ground for my autodimming mirror.

Run both wires to the center console. Gatta say this was a bit of a pita to do, but cheap metal coathanger (one u get with your laundry) will do the trick.

Here's what this led looks like when put in place

And here's final connection.

It's only 4pm here so i can't take night pics but there it is:

Looks pretty good with compass on the mirror!!!

Took me a little over an hour including locating illumination wire, talking on the phone, drinking coffee and smoking sigarettes

It shouldn't take more then an hour having me explaing EXACTLY how to do this.

I don't know if i'm feeling the orange... but I really like the light installation. If there was a way to switch the color to something else... I think there was a similar writeup but with a different non-OEM light installed.

Custom title time!

Off-topic question, but is that your GPS antenna mounted to the top of your DNX? Does it work well there?

That's where mine is and it works fine. I had to move the XM antenna to the, though. It wouldn't pic up a good signal from there.

Exactly what I was thinking as I was looking at the pictures.

I actually find that light kind of annoying. Now I know how to remove it
