How to install the s14 vlsd in s13?? bushing problem

Ok the s13 uses solid mounts and the s14 uses rubber. Do i have to remove the cylinder in the center of the s14 bushing? It sticks ou of the bushing a good ways on both sides. I have the s14 bolts that are longer but if i put the diff in the way it is will the pinion angle be correct, due to bushing centers being longer? When i lay the side by side it looks as it the cylinders stick up the same amount as the stock s13 mounting points? I guess what im asking is who here has put on in and how did the do the bushings? Anther thing i was thinking is just leaving them there and cuting them down a bit?
