I've been doing some homework on this topic for a while. I managed to pick up an RB25 turbo for a pretty cheap price, which makes this a very worthwhile upgrade for me.

I can't take any credit for the knowledge below... I've simply collected it from various sources (NICO, Racebread, and Aussie sources)

This is a nice low budget upgrade to your RB20det engine. While is it's not a huge power upgrade, it should help a bit.

Pro's- The RB25 turbo is of course newer. - The RB25 turbo flows 15% more air at the same PSI as the RB20 turbo. - This will gain more power and all of your supporting mods will be more efficient. - This should help you maximize your BPU upgrades (Sorry for the toy. supra lingo, but it's a good term.. Basic Power Upgrades). If you swap your RB20 wastegate actuator over to the RB25 turbo you will flow up to 10 psi. If you already have intake, exhaust, etc... This is the max airflow you can flow *safely* with the stock RB20 fuel system.

Con's- still using a ceramic compressor wheel - max hp with this turbo is still most likely 240/250 whp.. To go higher you will need a new turbo and upgrade injectors/AFM/engine and fuel management.

Finally... Here is the tutorial with pictures. http://www.project32.net/tutorials.php
