Wrong forum noob...well kinda. Anyway, is it a Sunny or a Sentra?

Either way, you might have to pop off the trim around the shifter, sometimes there are a couple of screws there that you can't see. Had the same issue with my 97 Altima. Hope that helps.

Yeah, those tiny things. Sentra never had a 1.4.

And yeah, my Maxima has screws hidden down low in front of the shifter as well. Uh...crap. I had an image of one already removed, but now I can't figure out where it went...

AHA!

I THINK that's the right one. If not, sorry. Looks like it's the same as my Maxima's center console: It hooks into the plastic cover around the shifter/transmission tunnel. You have to unscrew that as well and remove it to get the console free. Mine has a screw on either side of the transmission tunnel cover.

Man, that's an anti theft device if I ever saw one. Who would try to steel a head unit if you had to remove the whole dash just to get to it...DAMN!

Sorry, I can't find any info on that. My suggestion is picking up a Hayne's or Chilton book for the car (if those exist where you are). It should have step-by-step instructions, and cost around $20.

^ Or look for a FSM (factory service manual) for the car.

Here's what I would do...

Go to http://www.cardomain.com

Search for other 1993 Nissan Sunny owners. See if you can email or somehow contact them and ask for advice. I know I saw a couple on there with the same dash as you... with after market radios installed. So they should know what to do.

Here's an example... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/717519/2

Nico is a fantastic resource, but we just have so few Sunny owners.. you won't find a ton of help here... yet! But, if people like you stick around, we can continue to grow and improve NICO.

BTW... If I had to guess on how to remove it... I would guess that they have a few screws holding it on the bottom under the steering wheel. Also, perhaps a couple screws just above the gauges on the bottom of the visor. Then there are most likely multiple pressure clips that are holding it in. I used to own a Sentra... that's how it was... there were a couple screws hidden from view on the underneath surface areas, but most of the dash was clips. Just pull hard.. not hard enough to crack the plastic or anything.. but hard enough to release those clips.

anything thats next to the piece you are removing, unscrew them and take them out. open up the drivers door and make sure there arent any screws in the door jamb. usually with each piece of trim you remove you will find a screw or two that was hidden. unscrew everything you can find, make sure nothing is connected to the dash still, and gently start pulling it out. if one side gets stuck, start looking for screws again. honestly you might have more trouble pulling the dash out over the wheel. you may want to drop the steering column to pull it out.
