So since nobody's ever made a write up, and there seems to be a question about it every week, i figured i'd do a write up for everyone.

Materials needed:1) Flat head screwdriver or butter knife2) LED's: I used LED's from V-leds.com:5xSMT LED's for the 194's: http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior....htmlI only used 4x LED bulb for the license plate lights, but many people reccommend these: http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior....html16xsmt LED for the rear dome light: http://www.v-leds.com/Interior....html*Note: this dome light only applies to the coupes. sedans have 2 more 194 bulbs over each rear door.Vanity led lights: http://www.v-leds.com/Interior....html

To break it down, for the coupe you need the following led's:(2) 194's for the front maps(2) 194's for the courtesey door lights(2) 194's for the license plate (1) 194 for the trunk(1) 3022 for the center dome light

For the sedan:(2) 194's for the front maps(2) 194's for the courtesey door lights(2) 194's for the license plate (1) 194 for the trunk(2) 194's for the dome lights above each rear door

I used a butter knife, since for some of the covers, the slot to get into is so small that a screwdriver wouldn't fit. A butter knife is also smooth enough to not leave any scuff marks on the surrounding plastic.

First of all you'll want to disconnect the battery or you risk blowing a fuse. Remember that most of these lights are polarized, so when you put them in, don't replace the covers until you've reconnected the battery and tested out each light and if they don't light up, then pull them out and turn them around.

First for the map lights:Instert the butter knife under the map light cover, then pry the cover off to expose the bulb inside, just pull out the old bulb and put in your 194 size LED

For the rear dome lights:Same as the maps, insert your butter knife under the cover, pry it open and pull off the cover, then pull out the old bulb and throw in your 3022 LED. this bulb might be hard to pull out with your fingers, so just slip the butter knife behind the bulb and gentrly pry it out.

Courtesy door lights:For these, you don't even need a screwdriver or knife. Just put your fingers underneath the cover and pry them towards the front with your fingers. These are tricky to get into since they have a casing around them. Again pull out the old one and insert the new 194 LED.

Visor lights:Stick the butter knife into the bottom of the light cover, you'll see a small knotch where you can stick it into. apply some pressure and the cover will bulge out, allowing you to pull it off. These bulbs are hard to pull out, so as you did with the dome light, stick the butter knife behind the bulb and gently pry it out. now, these led's are polarized, so you have to put them in the right way. if you look at the reverse of the LED bulb, you'll see a small metal piece, this should be at the bottom when you instert the LED. And make sure that when you insert these, that the LED's face outwards.

License plate lights:Open the trunk and remove the clips. Stick the butter knife in between the center cap and the outer ring. Prop it out and it will pop out halfway, then pull out the entire clip. Do this for half of the carpetting until you can acess the license plate bulb assembly. Be careful of the escape latch, the carpeting needs to be maneuvered around it to make sure you don't break the latch. When you seperate the carpeting form the trunk, you'll see 2 grey bulb assemblies. Turn each one counter clockwise one quarter turn and they'll come out. Replace the halogen bulb with the LED bulb and you're set! Again, don't forget to test the bulbs before you put them back in.

now put on your shades and enjoy the light!

The following is a comparison pic of 1xled bulb compared to the 5xSMT LED bulb

So for the vanity lights... you have to order 4 of those correct? Each bulb is 4.99?

I've done all these swaps already except for the vanity light. Never knew which bulb went there.

in the sedan, all interior leds are 194 except for the vanity lights the sedans have a light above each door instead of one centre dome light in the coupes, and each take 1x194 bulb

Haha. That's the only time I see those lights but it bugs me so much to see that ugly amber while she's using it.

Thanks.

they'll work, but what are you using those bulbs for? the flanks would be ideal for the courtesey door lights, but not really anything else. and you're going to go with blue vanity lights?? i think you may tire of them pretty quick

Question, the white bulbs that you used for the Vanity and dome lights, are they the same brightness of the stock bulbs? or are they softer & dimmer?

damn, that sucks... is there a certain bulb that would make it dimmer? i don't want it as bright, and i'm debating on getting blue leds also, cuz i already have blue led cupholders

if you want dim, go with blue. blue has the worst lumens output.

for the vanity lights, the leds are for sure way brighter than stock.

for dome lights, if you want to go dimmer, then get single led's. they're quite dim. i assume you want to swap the leds for the color, but keep them relatively dim, if you want to get that effect, you can always put a few layers of scotch tape over the bulbs. they produce nearly no heat so it's safe.

for the coupe, the rear dome light is a 3022 or "festoon" bulb. for the rest of the car, they're all 194's except for the vanity lights.

for blue front map lights, you can use these if you want them dim:http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior....html

if you want them bright, use these: http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior....html

for rear dome lights, bright: http://www.v-leds.com/Interior....html

dimmer: http://www.v-leds.com/Interior....html

I have a set of blue led's which i don't use because i felt they were too dim. I'll sell them to ya if you want, since now all my interior leds are white. they look kinda glaring in the picture, but they're not. and from the look of the interior you can see that they're aren't too bright.

thanks for the info! the LEDs that you're willing to sell, are they the dim ones that you have listed above? And which/where do those LEDs that you have go? Is it just the front and rear dome lights? Or do you have others as well?

the ones i have for sale are the one's in the pictures. but like i said, they look really bright in the photos, but they're really not.

I have a bunch of led's, enough for all of the interior lights plus some extra, in either white or blue. just let me know which ones you want, shoot me an email at tonychanman(at)hotmail.com

Does anyone have a problem where the dome and map lights stay on very faintly when the doors are closed? The only way I get to turn them completely off is by moving the switch to the off position.

we all have that, all LED's will do that, but it's really faint so it's not an issue. it won't drain your battery or anything so don't worry about it
