How to improve performance

I am getting ready to buy a 97 or 98 240sx in a month and want to upgrade it when I get it

I am looking to mostly improve speed but still want to be quick off the line

I will only have about $1,500-$3,000max to improve it once I get so I need some suggestions on what would be best to do

save more money. you won't even realize you could sink 10-15g in these cars in a couple of years.
