TLDR; patch the holes in ur parcel shelf and behind backseat, then copy my EQ settings below.
Boring information:
Our cars uses an infinite baffle subwoofer (IB), an IB uses the trunk as a sealed box, key word is sealed which our trunks are not, theres holes all over the parcel shelf and behind the back seat. Simply patch every hole you can find (except for one's used by screws and clips of course) and this will give the IB more air to be able to move and produce louder and lower sounds, after doing both parcel and behind the seat it now sounds like theres a small kicker box in my car
The EQ settings in the radio are handled BEFORE the amp, while the volume is handled inside of the amp, I found this information on another forum where people were adding subs pre bose amp and found out the EQ can be used as a volume setting when they added a sub. This has lead me to think the EQ settings are not real EQ settings and are instead a simple volume slider for certain frequencies.
EQ Settings:
Bass: Max
Treble: -3
Fade (left/right): neutral (personal preferences)
Balance (forward/backwards): -2
Center channel: Off (it ruins the bass imo when on)
Surround sound: +3 (personal preferences)
What to tape:
- Start off easy and pull the top trunk liner down, theres a few clips you need to remove (flat head or proper plastic clip removal tool), i didnt fully remove the top liner from my car, I just took out like 6 clips I think and pulled it down and bent it a little (didnt bend it permanently, just enough to reach my hand in) and from here I used gorilla tape (dont use duct tape, gorilla is thicker or use real sound deadener) and I double layered the tape just to guarantee no air could go through the tape, and from here I covered every single hole I could find, I also added tape to oem tape because the oem tape wasn't fully securing the holes.
Now you will hear a night and day difference with the bass, it will be louder and lower but is still missing something you cant quite put a finger on.
- now we will remove the annoying back seat, for this i followed a guide on removing the seat for a M35 and its the same. Heres a picture of how i tappedthe back seat, i added more tape to the massive hole in the center after the pic was taken to help seal that a littlebit

After doing all of this, your seats will vibrate lightly, review mirror will be vibrating, and your neighbors will hear you coming from a block away now.
Extra information:
To get the best sound and loudest bass, you have to either listen to CDs, DVDs, or download the CDs to your car, iPod and Bluetooth loose ALOT of bass. I'll be making another post eventually about taking advantage of the surround sound and will be sharing a download link to all of my surround sound dvd .iso
