Whats a difference between the RB25 turbo and non-turbo that I could use to identify it, besides the obvious turbo, etc...?

I think in addition to getting scammed on the transmission (RB20 instead of RB25det transmission) I think the motor is a N/A rb25de with the DET oem turbo setup etc... The rb25det cluster says 70k km but the timing belt cover says 111k km on it, not to mention the R33 clip has a RB25DE vin plate on it.

Thanks for the help, trying to figre out if I got scammed.-Daniel

the de has top feed injectors the det has side feed injectors that is the main difference. pull the timing cover and check the belt.also note quite a few non turbo skylines have turbo motors fitted to them in japanmeggala

The other day I swapped in the Power Enterprise 550cc's for the RB25det and everything went down without a hitch. Here's the stock injector (the ones i removed) serial:

Jecs: j103z15 a40-f32

They look like side feeds like on your website.

But then again this japanese dude could have gotten all of tjhe stock turbo parts, including fuel rail and injectors from a buddy that was upgrading....

Thanks for the help so far,Daniel

Meggala, what am I looking for on the timing belt? Wear for mileage, or for a de-det distinguishment?

i thought they dont make RB25DE in R33 only in R32, i knoe that there is a difference between a Rb20DET intake mani and RB25DET intake mani the Rb20 has a notch in the back of the mani like this:

The compression is supposed to be 10:1 in the de and 9:1 in the det. I can't check the compression till I have the motor in and hooked up correct?

Also, JonPowell on 240sxforums said that he heard that the rb25de and rb20det have the same size exhaust ports, that the rb25det has larger ports and and that if mine was a de converted to a det, then the exhaust ports would be smaller than the stock manifold. Can anyone confirm this?

My R33 clip had a VIN plate that read "Rb25DE" instead of "RB25det" so apparently it was made in R33. I think this can be confirmed on Meggala's site.
