I have a Bose headunit on my 2001 maxima and i want to hook up a Sirius Sat radio on it and just want to know how i can do it without using a cassette adapter or a fm transmitter. Any ideas and i'm working on a very tight budget so the cheaper better ThanksD

What's wrong with an FM transmitter? The newer ones really work well and don't suffer from the sound quality issue that plagued earlier ones. I'm using an FM transmitter to get XM in my I30 and it works great. Good sound quality and no interference. Almost no exposed wires either.

what brand is your transmitter, I used a Monster transmitter that i bought from Radio Shack for $125 and that thing sucked big time worked on both cigarette lighter power and 9v bat, when using bat power it didn't work at all but when using the cigarette lighter it worked ok but the cassette adapter was better compared to that but still not satisfied, so i'm looking for a way to directly hook it to the HU

I'm using a Delphi RoadyXT with a built-in FM transmitter (IDK if there's a Sirus equivalent). I use 89.3FM for the channel (it's not in any significant use either up in Boston or down here in Williamsburg, VA where I go to school). In my set up I have the unit itself sitting in the center console compartment (there's a little slot in the side where the wires can run) and then I plug the power into the rear outlet and run the antenna cables under the rear floormat and behind the back seat and stick the antenna on the rear parcel shelf (no signal problems even with the rear sunshade raised). I can't tell much difference between the quality I get from that and from a CD in the CD player.

Well I know on the I30 (and I'm 99% sure the Maxima as well) there's somewhere for the stock CD changer to hook up to. That might be adaptable to a satellite radio unit somehow.
