how to get video to work from galaxy s3 on 06 M45?

hey guys just joined the forum but been following for a while, i know that the iphones guys have no problem getting video output. however when i try to hookup my samsung galaxy s3 with the rca cables it only plays sound but no video. i have tried multiple rca cables and still nothing. i just ordered the nav hack but i doubt that will change anything.

Nav hack is done in less than 1hr with only 1 switch & a few feet of wire

As for the Samsung you have to make sure it's giving a video out, most of the time it's just sound.

Video out with RCA cables from an S3? I have an HDMI cable, but RCA???

RCA will not give you video and if i think you're hooking into the 3.5mm (headphone plug) which will only give you sound.

you need to plug to the charging port with the HDMI cable. Make sure you buy the right HDMI cable as well. You can google s3 HDMI to see results.

i understand but i dont have a hdmi plug in the car the only thing i have is the red, yellow, and white rca plugs in the back. they do not make a hdmi to rca. the only solution i could come up with is using a

but as i read further the hdmi plugs it self are 11pin on the MHL adapter and the cable is 15 pin..so i do not think this will work

I dont understand the point of doing this. Your phone screen is almost as large as the car's, but much more clear.

my screens cracked and i want to have video on my front and rear montiors...

also the s3 screen is no where as big as the front or rear screens of the M.

you may be able to find just the screen on ebay or in a junkyard

dude my phone screen is broken not the one in my M...

A cable won't transfer HDMI to RCA alone. You would need a signal convertor or down convertor, as RCA is analog and HDMI is digital.
