Faaa get about it!quixote wrote:Yesterday, I was reading the user manual. It shows two possible locations for the jack. I went down to the garage, and checked my car. It was not in those places. It hides behind the black cover on the left hand side. There was a piece of cover that you could take it down and see the jack. But for some reasons that I couldn't take the jack out of there, and I was too scared to use more force. How do you guys take the jack out of your car? I don't want to end up trying to figure it out in the middle of no where when things happen.

If you are not a member of AAA join
Would you seriously think of changing a flat on the side of the Mass Turnpike with traffic moving close to 80 mph? I wouldn't!
Those jacks are not safe to begin with.
I use a 4 ton hydraulic jack to lift my G when changing oil and rotating tires. I never even looked at the jack that came with my G
No s***ting! I thought this manufactory jack is made for this situation. I am leaving this Saturday to NC. I would use 90, then 84, enter New York, then 95 all the way down to Raleigh. I guess I would be screwed if something happens. How much is AAA membership? It looks like 50 bucks a month.telcoman wrote:

At most $100 yr. Keep in mind that if you break down (flat tire, overheating, busted belt or hose, run out of gas, whatever) you have someone to call. Imagine being dressed up for a Wedding in rain or snow. Are you going to stand out there to change a tire? Also if you break down on certain toll roads you have to use an exclusive approved tow company that will only tow you to the nearest exit. They expect to be paid. Then you have to get another tow truck to tow you to a dealer or nearest a$$hole repair rip off. With AAA you just call them and they take care of it all. They give you free maps and will bail you out should you end up in jail in Buttf*** county jail in NCquixote wrote:No s***ting! I thought this manufactory jack is made for this situation. Although likely, let's think of how probable that situation is. First, how probable is it that you'll have a blow out? Slim. How probable is it that it is raining or snowing during your blow out? 50/50. How probable is it that you'll have a blow out and be dressed for a wedding? Even slimmer than have a blow out. So for the probability of having a blow out with all three situations is slim*.5*slimmer = most likely not going to happen.telcoman wrote:Keep in mind that if you break down (flat tire, overheating, busted belt or hose, run out of gas, whatever) you have someone to call. Enjoy the trip. Watch the movie Deliverence before you go.
Well worth it IMHO. I'm old, I'm cheap but I'm smart
