Ok well i have a pair of 18's that are 7.5 inches wide in the front & rear, an the offset is 42. An im about to order some tein basic coilovers an from what i heard the coilovers can change the offset. But anyways how big of a wheel spacer would i need for the front and back to get that flush look, but not rub the fenders?

P.S with coilovers cant you adjust the ride height to your level?like i know my friend has a pair of coilovers on his s14 an he adjusted his to lower the car 4 inches.

ok

1) those rims are going to look like ***. S14 look 100times better with a 8.5 front and 9.5 rear width rim. then for the rear +15 offset and at least a +20-25 for the front. that is the only way you can get the flush look. so sell those rims and get some other ones.

17x8 +30 17x9 +30

Perfect.

This car has a 17x8 +35 / 17x9 +30 it also uses Tein Flex coilovers and Cusco rear upper control arms so you know it will fit coilovers.

Coilovers don't change offset, they can however make fitting wheels difficult, as in your case. Those wheels you currently have will not fit with coilovers.

You will need a 15mm spacer to sit those wheels out far enough in the front. Don't run a 15mm spacer on stock lugnuts, opt for Nismo ones OR if you want the best option, get a spacer with lugs built into it (see below)

In the rear you will not need a spacer.

flush is all personal preferance. i personally do not see the picture that was posted above as near flush there is sill much to be desired.

this is far better 17x9 all 4 corners at a +15 offset

again why staggar sizes when you can fit 9j's at all 4 corners?

17x9 +30 ... R33 GTR wheels.

The picture angle does the wheels injustice... notice I also listed a different offset for the wheels.

If the S13 is on coilovers he is using a spacer in the front.. and from the looks of it, in the rear as well. Which makes the wheel stick out and overall looks retarded IMO.

Not to steal this guys post but I had a similar question. I have a 97 se.I'm planning on getting a set of volk GT-C face 2 wheels in a 18". I was just wanting to know what offset to get too.I'm not planning on running coilovers,I'm just wanting a set of tein high tech springs w/ agx's.I want to run a 18x8 or 18x9 somewhere in that range.I just want something like a 245 in the rear.So what offset for me? And do I need to run a spacer to clear 26mm z brakes? Thanks alot guys

Well that's not flush in the rear...the rim sticks out too far.

And while you can use 9's in the front, you'll also have to run a severely stretched tire and roll the fenders. Not everyone wants to do that.

18x8 +3018x9 +30

Run a 8" wheel in the rear if you want a 245... or bump up to a 255 which would be a better fit on the 9"

flush is all in how you define it and yes he is running spacers at all 4 corners. also why is everyone so against rolling thier fenders its free and easy to do. you dont have to strech the tires so much you could esily put some nice 215s or 225s up front.

wouldnt that make the tire rub the fender when the suspension compresses?

I WISH that were my car/garage, but it's not. :( It's Glenn's. They were taken from his site too.

As for the flush convo...you want flush (as in the definition of the word; make level or straight), emulate that car's wheel specs...they are 17x8 +20 (actually they are +35 w/ a 15mm spacer) front w/ 225/45/17 and 17x9.5 +42 rear 255/40/17.

If you want this 'drifter flush' look, get the widest wheels you can afford and stretch the smallest tire across them and run the lowest possible offset. It makes no sense to me, the wheels are totally unprotected, looks ugly (totally subjective, but to me it does), and (although I'm no tire guru) seems really dangerous for the street.

not when you strech the rubber

Not true at all. I've seen 240's w/ wide wheels, stretched tires, AND rolled fenders still rub when cornering hard.

well i mean thats what people do to keep the rubbing down and have the wheel be in line with the fender. it might not work all the time, but a 205 on a 9j is gonna rub a lot less than a 285.

215s look nice on a 9j and a nice pulled fenders with coils and carious other thing should limit the rubbing.

I'm sorry but a 205 or a 215 on a 9" rim is NOT safe by any means.

I don't even bother trying to tell people that anymore. It's the 'drifter' look, and people will try to mock it regardless of what you try to tell them.

Aye.. it's not the smartest trend to come along.
