ya know those annoying warning signs that are on every car on the visor, saying don't drive with a baby in the front seat due to the airbag. Well I think it's nuts that those warnings are on every car,,, but then again, maybe it's not nuts at all,,, probably prevented a lot of accidents. anyways..........

How do I get rid of them? I tried ripping off the plastic sticker warning on my old Camry, but that just ended up screwing up the visor. Now on the a/c, the warnings seem etched directly into the visor fabric. I thought a read post here about 'melting' them somehow, but that sounds like it could go wrong very easily, thereby dripping hot material all over the interior. Any other ideas?

Or as an alternative, anyone have some cool visor covers that they would recommend?

thx

You can get them off with a hair dryer and a lot of patience. I did it with mine and it worked pretty well. I used goof off (sparingly) to remove any extra glue. If you're patient and work at it you should be able to remove the whole sticker in one peel, otherwise you'll end up with a bunch of strips as you tear it as I did my first time.

Wow, a hair dryer, huh? Creative. thx for the info.

I don't think I have access to a wireless hairdryer though, and no outlets nearby to plug in a standard one,,, so hmm........ I will consider buying those CD cases though that go over the visor. Those are kinda cool, but a lot of them have annoying brand names on them... I just want something plainnnnnnnn.

thx

WHAAAt... dont wimp out... ive read MANY articles on people taking the label off.. im waiting till the warm weather.. but its not difficult... just heat and tweezers.. There are some screws under a plastic piece that hold the visor in the car.. unscrew.. and you are good to go!

I didn't even use a hair dryer, I just peeled slowly from the edges and worked my way inward.

Theres a site floating around here that does overlays for the visors that say something customized. Can't remember what it is though

Yes, I have a very, very slight rectangle shadow, but it's unoticeable unless you're really looking hard. I asked several people if they could see it and they didn't even notice it until examined up closely.

I didn't think to do that, that would have made things easier, I did it in the car in my garage. I used tweezers too, that was key.

As far as doing it without the heat, ya you can do it, but I think it would be a lot harder.

Generic, were you able to peel them off in one pull or a bunch of strips?

ohh... 'Take them off'... Took me a while to realize you meant the visors can come off the car (unscrewed). Originally thought they were superglued on there or something...

I will give that a shot. thx!

I've read on a lot of other forums that people have had good results by using Goof Off on these stickers.

I took it off in one piece. Pulled a little 1" section at a time so it wouldn't leave the residue.

I took mine off too and it's the same as Generics, you can barely see it.

The driver's side I was a wimp and used little heat and it came off in a billion strips.

The passenger side I gave it hell with the heat... and it came off in one big sticker.
