My front passenger brake used to stick....like when I lifted my foot off the pedal you would hear a clink like the shim was sticking. So I took it apart and greased the caliper slides and put some anti-whine spray on the backs of each brake pad/shim. Now there's a different noise coming from the same spot.

When I hit the pedal to come to a stop, it will slightly whine. And you can't hear the whine until you hit the pedal somewhat hard, and it gets louder the harder you push the pedal. What could this be now? All 4 rotors/pads are less then a year old. Help me please!

Are you running stock? Some aftermarket pads are just noisy. Does the whine sound like the pad screecher?

you think the rotors are slightly warped? try to grease more + switch the rotor and see if the noise goes to the other side

They're just stock rotors and pads, lots of meat left on the pads, so it's not the screecher. It's a very faint sound, not nearly that loud, but I still don't want anything to be wrong with it.

Is it safe to switch rotors, say swap the front left and right ones? I mean since everythings settled in on each side, I wonder if that would cause more problems? What all should be greased on the brakes? All's I did was grease the slides under the rubber boots.

it is safe to switch left and right for stock

you should a thing metal piece (brake shim) between the brake pad and the caliper piston.

the grease should be applied to both side of the shim on all 4 brake pads

Okay, I'll switch the rotors and see if it goes away or moves to the drivers side. If it does move, does that mean the rotors are warped then? I've never had warped rotors, and don't know what the symptoms of them are? Instead of grease, I use this spray can lubricant anti-squeal stuff, it's blue. I spray it on the backs of all pads and on the shims. Is that okay to use, or is caliper grease better for stuff like that?

you can take it to any place that does brakes and see if they can resurface them... you can usually resurface your rotors a few time as long as it is within its intended tolerance.

I don't know what grease you were referring to and what you plan to use but I been using permax product.

you want something to last a while, not having to reapply in a short amount of time.

in CA usually they charge me $15~20 for 2 rotors brought to them (3 different shops) to resurface. A set of no name rotor will only cost you maybe 80$ online... something to think about

also be sure that your brake pads do not have crack on them becuase that will make sound as well
