CarSponsor wanted my credit card right away so I thought I would ask you guys what the best way to become sponsored is.

Online portfolio?Direct contact with companies?Mail in a portfolio?

Just been thinking about getting more into the car world.

why the heck would a car sponsor want a credit card number? you shouldn't have to pay anything for sponsorship.

if you want to get sponsored, every companies has their own menthods of setting this up.... usually, you'll need to get your car show quality, and start entering it into every show you can...

when a company sees you have entered shows in the past and that you'll be entering shows in the future, and that you've already won shows, then they are more likely to offer you a sponsorship...

again, this is just one method for one company...

other companies are usually willing to do so on new cars that first coms out... but you're kind of late to jump on most of those types of sponsorships as our car has been out for a few years, and most companies already have their sponsored Altima coupe....

but again, that doesn't mean you can't get sponosred... just contact the companies and ask them, and they'll tell you how to get sponsored for their particular company

Just to throw a manufacturer's perspective on things..

Things like carsponsorships.com are a real dis-service to the industry in the way they market themselves... the illusion you're "being sponsored".

They work relationships with people who sell automotive items, to create a discount program (problem is it's usually goofy or off the wall items) to push to their members. They call it a sponsorship, and make it easy for you to load your vehicle info, and send form letters to manufacturers requesting sponsorships.

We personally have never, and will never, sponsor a vehicle submitted by one of these "services".. we feel they are taking your money, and giving nothing in return.

Please don't pay them anything.. they are predatory, deceiving, and just plain suck..
