How to get a JDM vehicle out of customs without huge fees?

Does anyone know way around the car being classified as a "vehicle" other than cutting it in half?

There is 6 hours left on this auction and a buddy of mine is very serious about getting this R32 GTS-T, but he is unsure on the importing laws. So we are in a mad dash to find out. Thanks in advance.

Any other threads from forums or first hand expierence would be good too, doesn't have to be a nissan or anything. thanks.
