How to [almost] get a heart attack...

I pull into work parking lot (which is pretty much empty at 7am) and park in my favorite spot. As I'm getting out of the car, someone else parks to the passenger side of my car, no biggie. I take a quick look at the driver and I realize it's one of my coworkers. I didn't wait since it's freezing out and she just parked, so I went to my desk.

A few minutes after I sit at my desk she comes into my office, I'm thinking uh oh, and she says "your car!" and I'm starting to freak out inside (this is the heart attack part...I'm thinking did she bang up my door trying to get out? is there something worse? what's up with my baby???) the few seconds before she gets the next part out seem to drag on in super slow motion. Then she says the lights are still on and I get this wave of relief over me.

I spend the next minute or two explaining to her how my lights are automatic and that they will turn off. Her confusion came from the lights being still on when I walked in the building. She expected them to turn off by then. She also was very surprised to hear that I very rarely have to turn my lights on or off.

tl;dr - co worker came in and said your car which freaked me out for a second before she said the lights were still on

I like that spot because it gives me the closest straight line from my car door to the front door of the building. I'm sure that's why my coworker parked to the right of me.

I don't bother parking far away because there will always be that one special a**hole who will find my car door with his door. Isn't that what Murphy's Law is all about?

Agreed with Phenom, just because someone may not be able to afford a luxury car or dream car doesn't mean that their current "s***" car can't be kept clean and nice. Or maybe they could afford it but might not want that brand name car for some reason? I dunno only my opinion....

I didn't say that because of affordability, I said it because if you're going to have a heart attack over a vehicle then your priorities in life are screwed up. Vehicles aren't worth having a heart attack over, whether it's a $300k Ferrari or a $19k Altima Coupe.
