The problem is , I think I did scratch the paint.....the white mark do not come off when i rub them with a wet finger. I will try your other suggestions. I would try washing the car properly first.
If that doesn't fix it, then a clay bar + detail spray should be able to lift off the dirt. Follow it up with a good wax/sealant and you should be good.
