Hi everyone.
I dont know how this happened, but the position indicator panel got loose.
I tried to disassemble the surrounding panels but I still couldn't access the position indicator panel.

Does anyone know how to fix this???? Image

why is their a piece of rope tied around your shifter?

And also, I'll look at mine tomorrow and see what I can come up with.

Thank you!

PS I have the charms that my parents gave me for protecting me from car accidents. The piece of ropes are from that.

you should be able to pop the thing out then pop that piece back into place. Worked on my GF ****vrolet that same piece is the one in my 5 speed and it just pops loose too. if one of the clamps is broke you might try good ol super glue.

You should go online and find page 213 of section AT of the 2011 manual. This shows that the "position indicator plate" pops off. What it doesn't show is how much access you have to anything else once it is off.
You may have to take off the shift lever to get the access you need. This is also shown in the diagram, but I can't see anything securing the shift lever to the linkage. Perhaps that pops off as well.
The position indicator plate is shown with some very healthy hooks at each corner. You should be able to use a suitable tool [you can get these at Eastwood, they are called a "nylon pry bar set"] to push the front ones to the back and the rear ones to the front.
Manufacturers don't want these things coming off, so they make it difficult for them to come off. And there is usually a loud noise when they release.
Should you choose to use other than nylon or fiberglass tools, say by using a paint scraper or drywall tool, you may seriously scratch up your interior parts.
Good luck, can't imagine what a dealer would want for this job!
