Fellow Forum Members,
I have a 2001 Pathfinder and I would appreciate it a lot if anyone out there can suggest what is the possible component I need to remove and replace so that I can fix a problem relating to my OEM Nissan car alarm.
It use to be that when I pressed on the LOCK button on the remote the yellow lights and a honking chirp noise will go off and this will tell me the car was locked.
Now out of the blue my honking chirp and yellow lights changes itself automatically to SILENT MODE and then sometimes comes back.
In other words, my car alarm switches from SILENT MODE to CHIRP MODE or visa versa with nothing done from me. I'm not simultaneously pressing the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the Keyless Entry Remote to change between the two modes. The alarm is switching between the two modes by itself. What component controls the alarm setting between SILENT MODE and CHIRP MODE? I will like to replace such component and see if I can get my Chirp Mode back on a permanent basis.
I have already changed the battery in the REMOTE. Still no change.
Thanks in advance for any help.
