the rims that i had purchased were hub-centric. the 4wd front hub exterior nuts were the problem as they were hitting the inside of the rim. changing brake rotors would not do anything as far as fitment issues would go. if the rims you have ARE hub-centric, then you'll just need to grind/machine the inside material away. but be careful as to not remove too much, and to have the rim/tire balanced afterwards. if your rims are not hub-centric, get the rings before you install the rims, then check for the front hub clearance.
QX4Pgh-luckily my rims did not need the hub rings, but that is a big problem as well....the hub rings. i guess alot of shops just install rims and let the customer drive off, which is not good. a worst case scenario would be that the customer drove off, the wheels vibrate bad-yet the cust figures it will go away and keeps driving-the heat and vibartion causes some of the lugnuts to come loose..then,bye bye wheel. the rims that i had purchased stated that they would fit '01 path/qx's, but in fact did not because of the hub nuts. glad everything worked out for you in the end!
