When I was in high school I owned a 1966 Datsun Pickup registered in Washington State with license plate #A30800.  I sold the truck I believe in 1977 and now would like to try and find out what happened to the truck and where its at. Is there a way to do this? I've tried calling up to the Washington State home town motor vehicle division but they won't talk to me. How do I proceed from here? I love these little trucks. Thanks for all your help.

Wow, that's a tall order unless you have a software guy who can help you hack the Washington state DMV server! I would have suggesting starting where you sold it and working out. Washington is a long way from AZ. We do have a bunch of members from Washington. You could start by pulling up our members list and looking for anyone from there and ask them to keep an eye out. Or post another topic "Washington state ODPL members need help...... You might get lucky. Good luck to you Bay6. Ken

Do you know a Law Enforcement Officer in WA state?  Back in the day I had a neighbor that was a state Highway Patrol that "helped" me track down the owner of an abandoned looking Datsun Roadster.  You would have to know them real well these days as I suspect there would be serious hell to pay if they were caught.

Another way to find the general location (state) if it is still registered would be to run a CARFAX or similar on the VIN if you still know it.  CARFAX does not work on older non 17 character VIN's, but maybe there is another service that does.  That would at least narrow it down to the state if it is still registered.

Good Luck
