so do you think it is ok to spy brake cleaner on the vacuum lines and my car is already having a problem with high idle because the rpm will be above 1500rpm and when i give a little tap on the gas the rpm will drop down for just a second and then it will jump right up and then i would get this black smoke that would have a strong smell of gasoline from my exhaust. My check engine light is on too and i got it checked out and the guy who diagnose the problem said it is because of the EGR and i have a brand new EGR so could it be because of he BPT valve or what? PLEASE HELP?

the trick with the brake cleaner is mainly for intake leaks. Use a vaccum gauge tester and get the specs from the fsm if you think that is the problem

did you personally install the EGR? you should check that again, before you even start spraying anything

i would reccomend you use carb cleaner, instead of brake cleaner they both would do the trick but it seems like brake cleaner is not that plastic friendly. it laeves a different kind of residue

good luck!

yea i replace the EGR when i had the motor out and i replace all of the vacuum lines and i also replace the gasket for the EGR but i was thinking, could it be one of the little valves that i see that is connected with the vacuum lines. I have a ka24e and i have alot of vacuum lines and i what these three funny looking valves that are connected to the vacuum lines, two are in the back of the motor and one is on the side next to the header. So if anyone can help please help
