Thanks bro!adrians_s13 wrote:Awesome work Toby!
With the three amplifiers, four sub woofers and all of the fiberglass pieces...... it weighs roughly 100 lbs.Ajax wrote:Some stellar work. How much does all that weigh?
Really? I knew you could work miracles Toby but DAMN! I would have thought that would have weighed 1 metric ton. Filling all that carpet with resin?Broadfield wrote: it weighs roughly 100 lbs.
Thanks man! It's not s heavy as you would think. I may be underestimating it by 20 lbs so, but it's close. Yeah, I gave her the link to my Fotki folder where I keep all of my pictures. I uploaded these build pics as I did the job...... so she could see the progression as I did built it. Thanks, I took the pics.PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:

Make sure you give copies of all the pics to the owner of the car. She can frame them and bring them with her to shows and crap. Excellent photography work as well. Did Kyle do that?
Spray Polyester...... you can get it from auto body supply stores or online.dopplganger1 wrote:where did you get the spray bondo? and is it called spray bondo or does it have some other name?
Just post in here or call the # in my sig if you ever have any questions!jdefelic wrote:That is awesome. I have some small stuff I've been wanting to fiberglass but didn't know the basics. You just gave me the confidence to do it. Thanks man! Nice craftsmanship!
Thanks!Broadfield wrote:Just post in here or call the # in my sig if you ever have any questions!
Yeah, I take a lot of measurements which gets it pretty darn close. That's the nice thing about sealed enclosures, they can slightly vary in size without any ill effects.DanThaMan wrote:this is boneriffic man, you have some mad fab skills. How do you figure out air space for these, do you just take dimensions and then ballpark it with the fiberglass?
I wish you the best of luck bro! Give me a shout if you need any pointers. You going to bring the vert out to Nashville this year?AZhitman wrote:Toby, this thread is pure WIN.
After reading this, I'm going to tackle 2 projects:
The console / dash panel for my S13 (delete radio opening) and make it fit my air susp gauge / turbo timer / boost controller ...
AND
My tonneau cover for the rear of the 'vert.
Although, after looking at the pics, it seems I could refinish the entire backseat area in some nice smooth fiberglass!
Thanks man!95ka24de_zenki wrote: Dude, you know your s***. That's awesome!!!
Can't wait to hear from you GhastyGhast wrote:Taking the time to do all this, answering questions.

PS: I am aborting the repair of my daily, keeping all money focus on the S. Talk to you soon
Well unfortunately resin, bondo, fiberglass mat, sandpaper, primer etc. are all expensive. I would say I had a couple hundred in materials.steamer1227 wrote:Broadfield.........one word Perfection.....well i had one question for you i had never fiberglassed before but always had wanted to do......the question is how much would something like what you did with the sound system cost if i was to do the work myself...material wise....i have the air tools and thats bout it...i just wanted to know how much i would get into before i venture into it....tight budget so if its not too much i would def. like to do it.
thanx
