It shouldn't be too hard. I recently hollowed out a set of Kinetix HFCs and it only took me about 10 minutes. All you should need is a long screwdriver and a mallet.

Besides the Federal and State Felony: disconnecting or tampering with an Federally required emission device, you can void the Nissan warranty on the engine if caught.

If you sell the car, the future owner can take you to court years later [up to 100k...longer in some states] and force you to pay to return vehicle to oem* because you committed fraud in selling the vehicle [even submitting a passing emission test to transfer title proves you are guilty of additional fraud charges.

*If engine has damage you are stuck with replacing that also, the only except to as is is emission tampering sales fraud.

Same situation applies to illegally replacing oem cats [with so called high flow short life] which are warrantied by Nissan for 80-100k [varies by state].

Study the laws before you committ to irrevocable changes.

Just put test pipes on it or put new cats on it before you sell it.

From Jerome, he says that hollowed HFCs have little raspyness, compared to testpipes which do have raspyness, from medium to very very very annoying

Yes. But the only experience I have with hollowed HFCs is with the STOCK exhaust. There's a good chance that there may be some raspyness with an after market exhaust... I'm not sure.

AND my check engine light is NOT on, nor has it ever come on with the setup I'm currently running.

Seriously. Are you going to do this, just to gain 5-7 HP? Empty the crap from your trunk, lose some weight, or install a UDP. Yeah, I know, if one person does it ... no big deal. But if we were all to do it, it would add a lot to the emissions. I'm no freaking greener, and I don't care that much about the enviroment, but for 5 HP?

There is no such thing as free or cheap horsepower. One way or another, you pay for it.

Review from last argument -

Lawnmowers produce more emissions than our cars, there are thousand ..... of people already doing it .. think about Le MansIts bad!Sometimes you NEED it .. in FI cases.

Did you ever stop to consider that some people do SOME modifications to make their car's exhaust note sound better? That's why I did mine.

I agree with everyone, get test pipes first...they are cheap and if you don't like the smell/sound you can put the cats back on.
