No I do not mean drag as in drag an Sr across the floor I mean Drag Race with an Sr powered 240.

As you can see by not only my quetion but by my number of posts that I am a Noob. I ask because I have recently aquired a S13 redtop powered S13.I tried posting this in the General Chat but got little replies they did not fully answer my questions and I figured I'd ask the people with most experience.

I've been droping the clutch at around 2500rpms this is on street tires no LSD and on an organized street racing track. I dont quite understand this feathering method he tells me about and do I do that in every gear???

any advice would help.

by the way mods are as follows: No catback yet open 3" down pipe, Manual boost controller, boost at 12psi, Hks FMIC, Blitz BOV.

My brother went off to collage and left it for me to take care of.:D

Welcome to open diff city. I cut 2.4 60's because of that crap, I wheelspin all day long. I've found that if I let the clutch out real slow at first and build up a good amount of revs, then either drop it or let it out the rest of the way, I will cut some good times, but I can't launch at more than 2500.

Next mod is an LSD for sure, but not just for drag.... drift time.

It's gonna be just like a honda except for the wheel spin in first gear.

I am getting my LSD tonight or tomorrow. It will help so much with auto X. I will power out of corners so much better. Anyway if you slam shift in 2nd you probably break free for the whole gear. I know I do with a open diff. But you want to be at the brink of breaking the tires away. Keep as much traction as possible.

a note, hondas do wheel spin in first. just not crappy civics. anyways.....I found the best way to do it on any most cars is to just test out what works best. The first time i launched a car it was at like 4k rpm's and a spun forever. 2k-3k is usually what most stuff launches at. try diferent rpm's on a track where you can get times and see what works best. and shifting through the gears after is just shift quick....the slower you shift the easier you are on the car thou
