so ay be a dumb question but i've looked and cant find anything,I recently bought a health 1989 240sx and I wanted to run a low boost setup (~4psi) from what ive read seems like I can get away with doing this on the stock ecu/tune with a hacked maf mod? I know it includes adding bigger injectors which needs to be done when adding boost anyways but what actually needs to be done to the maf?

The trick is to put the sensing element into a larger diameter tube. Note that this works easily with MAF from an S14, but using the MAF from an S13 will take exponentially more work.
