how to do get code for CEL on s13?

already searched but didn't find what I was looking for.

My check engine light come on and I really want to know what's wrong so please don't tell me to simply reset it.

I would liek to know how to check CEL code. Thanks!

is that what the blinking lights reprezent(sp). If you need the chart I can scan it out of my Chiltion for you.

please do, I also need to know how to trigger it, for my integra I have to short certain pins on the service port. probably something similar such as shorting the ecu on s13?

Hi there, I havn't(yet) read of an easy way to pull codes from the dash. My Honda was easily accessible too like your 'teg. The only way I know of is to observe the LED light on the ECU itself(IIRC, the CEL light flashes along with this LED, but you have to turn a switch on the ECU anyways, so...).

I'll refer you to the 240sx FAQ to answer the rest of your question. (it's under ECM BTW)

pull the ecu out without unplugging it. put it into mode 2 by rolling the rheostat for mode selection all the way clockwise for at least 2 seconds and then back. the cel will flash your code: - - - - . . . would be 43 and so on. be quick to look at the dash because you might miss it. your car will go into mode one again after it is started. you will erase the code by doing this.

or at least that is how it works on my 98. ask nistech for a more detailed or correct answer. in the nissan online mechanic section.
