I think that he is trying to disable the day time running lamps.

Op, your best bet is to find a fsm for your car and look through the wiring sections to see if there is any thing you can do to disable them. (probably cut a wire or unplug something)

S13s dont have day time running lamps.

Op, you need to be more specific on what you mean. Your ebrake has nothing to do with your headlights.

Well...What year do you have? This info will also help

Canadian s13's do, but that is beside the point, using my brain I was able to come to the conclusion that he most likely has a s14 as the drl's in the s13 are separate from the headlights, and he said that the headlights come on when he disengages the e-brake. In the vast majority of cars with day time running lamps, when you disengage the e-brake the drl's turn on.

The switch the e-brake lever actuates to make the "brake" light in the dash come on might also activate the DRLs. You could maybe leave the e-brake on the 1st click, so it's hitting the switch but you won't be dragging your rear brakes. But then the "brake" light will be all in you face.

at the first click though it still might clamp a little on the brakes.

pretty sure those are running lights. Don't mess with them. They lower your insurance and don't effect anything.

whats wrong with having your daytime lights on anyway, doesnt hurt anything and makes you easier to see on foggy mornings or any other low visability time
