How to determine if an 2011 EX35 is equipped with Tech Package?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi. I'm currently looking into purchasing a used 2011 EX35 with the Technology Package for the lane departure warning and lane departure prevention, intelligent cruise control, distance control assist, intelligent brake assist with forward collision warning, and blind spot warning.

From what I've researched, switches to turn on the safety features should be found in the image below as Item# 6. I've found a few cars advertising as Technology Packaged cars but seem to have empty button clusters where Item 6 should be in the image below. Curious if this info is correct or if anyone could tell me the quickest way to determine if the Tech package is equipped by looking at Interior pictures or possibly by VIN (Which I don't believe is possible)

Thanks in advance.

It is likewise hard to tell if the EX is an AWD model or not. The Infinitis with blind spot warnings have red LEDs that flash in the triangular black piece just in front of the front windows beside the side view mirrors.

You can watch the car review videos from 2007 when the EX came out on youtube which demo this. Car and Driver might be the channel.

Also, you should be able to use the VIN number to tell exactly what options you have. You can contact Infiniti with it, or I think you can even input the VIN into the Kelly Blue Book site or CarFax. Something tells me that it probably doesn't have that package.

Not 100% sure about 2011, but I think so.... if the back of the driver's side headrest does NOT have a flip-out coat hook, then it doesn't have the tech package. This was true for the 2008. For example my Journey does not have that coat hook on the headrest. Also, all cars with the tech package also will have GPS.

Great info. Thanks. I believe I do recall reading about the drivers side coat hangar. That may be the thing to look for in For Sale ads.

Thanks again.

The coat rack is not part of the tech package. It is part of the touring package. The tech package will have two extra buttons on the steering wheel as well as button on the lower left side of the dash. I will attach some pics with and without the buttons. Also, I am copying and pasting the package options for the 2011 year.

This one shows a steering wheel WITHOUT the tech package.

This shows a steering wheel WITH the tech package. Notice the changes to the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel...They move the cruise button and place two buttons in its place.

The tech package also has an IBA Off button and a button with a car with circles around it. Yours might also have an AFS Off button in the same place but the AFS is part of the deluxe touring package. Ignore the red circle.

Wow. Thanks for pointing everything out and taking the time to post the pictures. I appreciate it. I'm looking to test drive one this week and I'll go from there. I was seriously considering an optioned out Rogue but read about the CVT issues, which led me here.

Thanks again
