How to confirm a GTR is really a GTR?

I'm pretty sure this is a common question, but I didn't find anything. If I'm going to look at an R32 GTR, how do I confirm it truly is one?

Call an importer when your there to see if they can look up the vin. Call first and see if they can though. Black ops performance in cocoa beach fl sells imports all the time and John the owner is really cool! He would for sure be able to tell you if it's a true or wannabe.

The easiest way would be to check the vehicle info tag in the engine bay. Look to make sure it hasn't been swapped. If it's a true GT-R, the chassis code will be BNR32.

Also, the GT-R had blistered front and rear fenders.

Another dead giveaway is if it still has the AWD system. While the GTS-4 can be converted to the GT-R, the GTS-t doesn't have the space for the transfer case off the transmission. So, if you have an R32 with an RB26 and no AWD, it's likely a conversion.

There are some other ways, I am sure, to tell, but I don't know that many.

Well as a person who has owned both i will start 1 the VIN a GTR will have the VIN of Example BNR32-006734Where a GTST the VIN CAN BE :HCR32 GTS4 is HNR32and a GTS Non turbo HR32 2. The GTR has Wide Body fenders front and rear 3. The GTR only had factory Amber lightsfor turn signals the GTST had both amber and clear and they do not fit on a GTR tried it 4. The GTR only had Blue Glass and not Blue or Tan Glass Like the GTST (Not Verified) I have only had Blue Glass GTR's but 7 out of 7 where blue glass
