Well my SR20 T25 should be back from rebuild soon and I need to learn how to clock it for the CA18. From what I have been able to find all you do is unbolt the center section and turn it till everything is lined up or am I wrong. Would there be a problem because the actulator? Does anyone know exactly how much I need to clock it before it fits? Someone want to make me a step b step thing?

Loosen the actuator and mark the position of the compressor and turbine housing in relation to each other.Loosen the bolts and turn the centre section to it's desired position. Fix turbine housing to centre section and clock the compressor housing until it is lined up the way it was for the actuator. You might have a few degree of play for the position of the compressor housing in relation to the actuator and wastegate flapper on the turbine but often this is very little. If the compressor housing doesn't line up the way you want you could look at the actuator bracket if it can be moved to the next bolts on the back of the compressor housing. Some actuator brackets mount against these bolts, other are mounted to the front of the housing. If you can't get a good position at all a new bracket is required.

You can even take the complete housings off if you want, just do it with care and don't force the fins on the wheels.

The compressor housing is held on by a large snap ring. You'll need a pair of appropriately sized pliers to deal with this. After clocking, it can be a hassle to hold the housing still while you reinstall the snap ring. Its doable, just be patient or get a friend to hold the mess still.

What is the A/R on the comp housing?? if u got the .80 A/R from the ealier SR u need to clock it but ! if u got the 1 from later sr with .68 A/R u DO NOT HAVE TO !! C. and if u have to clock the turbo the Actuator rod will not line up properly, so u will need to modify it to fit. on the same time if u can ,, make an adjustable rod for it..http://community.webshots.com/user/loofee95se click on update pics to see what I'm talking about. I clocked mine with a rubber hammer. It only needs to be rotated like 1/2" to clear the exhaust manifold.

Bah, wish it wasnt a .80 A/R but it is... I do have a HKS actuator so I dont have to do the adj thing though. I will see how much I need to clock it once it gets back but a rubber hammer sounds like fun. Hehehe

cheapturbo.com is doing the job for me.

It was $250 till they found out my center section ate a nut and needed to be replaced. So price went up to $395. The turbo should have been here last Monday and I need to call them and ask whats going on.
