Hi band,

Do you clean your motor, and how?

I'd like to keep mine clean, but I don't know how... I suppose I can't use the hose to do that.

Wrap anything electronic like the distributor, alternator, fuse box, etc with plastic bags or foil (safe on newer cars with plastic connectors, of course not on the battery). Then spray the engine bay with diluted degreaser, agitate soiled up spots, let it sit for a few minutes, then hose the engine bay down on fan/flat setting with your hose. Dry it by leaving it in the sun, leaf blower, etc for a while Then remove the covered parts, start up your engine, let it idle for 5 minutes to help dry up the remaining areas.

Im a fan of the wet rag

If you don't let it get dirty in there, you don't need to do what phobs said! I usually wipe down the engine bay every wash!

I agree with the wet rag. Ive only wiped problem areas but never the whole engine bay. Maybe that is something to do in the future. Nissan did a great job designing the engine bay because it stays relatively clean.

True true, I've just dealt with so many engine bays and when I hear dirty, I imagine DIRTY. As long as you keep it clean then you don't need to go through all that trouble later on .
