My car has been idleing very, very rough and it's actually been getting worse... I did just about everything you can including trying multiple ECUs, MSFs, took out the AIV.. new plugs/wires, new fuel filter, cap/rotor. etc.. etc.. well today I took off the intake and sprayed the TB as much as I could with carb cleaner it was really nasty and grime and goo came out... after that I started the car and it seemed to be running much better then it had been... is there a way to really clean the whole ECCS thing? it seems I have a lot of buildup in there and that's what's creating the issues..

just keep spraying it a few times and also run fuel injector cleaner into your gas tank and if things don't get better... try replacing the injectors or try this if u don't feel like buying new ones... take the injectors fill up a bucket with fuel injector cleaner and drop the injectors in and let the injectors sit in the bucket with fuel injector cleaner for over night.

i have done that before and has helped.

if cleaning everything doesn't work check timing/disturbor timing and also try adjusting your idle air control valve that's near the firewall if ur standing on the passanger side look to the far left of the intake and below there should be a screw and hole though a bracket... its not hard to find.. once you find it, start up car and adjust that screw.

other than that well that's all i can say.

You can spray the intake cleaner into the brake booster hose,So it will get into the manifold better.I did this with my g20 and it cleaned out the whole thing.

Seafoam products are the **** too... check'em out

http://www.seafoamsales.com/ look for it locally if you can find it... probably cheaper. (shipping and what not) If not shop around on the net and ebay... i'll bet you can find it cheaper somewhere.

If you are cleaning it while its on the car, it is easiest to get someone to hold the gas pedal down so the plate stays open and you get all the grime. Trying to hold it open with one hand and clean it with the other is a pain in the ***.

The first time I cleaned my TB it was REAL dirty (so dirty that a chunk of carbon was holding the plate open, causing me to idle at like 3k) so I sprayed tons of TB cleaner on it. When I started it it ran a little rough, but straightened itself out. Soo I wouldn't be afraid of sucking anything in.

I also suggest trying Seafoam, its pretty good stuff.

no no no.. dont go adjusting the idle air control, fix the problem, if you half *** it and do that, you wil have problems later on down the road. rember if you ghetto **** up youll pay for it down the road. and cleaning the intake/plenum while its on the car, isnt a smart idea but do what you want.
