I just recently cleaned my throttle body and I have read several posts on the IACV/AAC and I would like to clean it. After cleaning the throttle body, my base idle in park and in drive went up about 100 rpms even after it was warmed up (no vacuum leaks). I know that sometimes the idle has been adjusted to hide other things. I didnt adjust the valve or anything related to the IACV/AAc yet b/c I would like clear directions on how to remove, clean, replace the gasket that I have heard needs to be replaced, and install it. My question is (yes I have done the search but no clear directions except on a 240sx) how do I remove it and what do I need to look out for aside from replacing the gasket and turning the screw the 2.5 turns. I really want to do this right so I dont want mess this up and cause another problem.

Nothing really to it, just unbolt the 4 screws and shoot it with brake parts cleaner. Many times I dont even take it off the hose..

Does anything need to be adjusted. I have read that the idle screw needs to be closed then adjusted out 2.5 turns. I am sure cleaning the AAC will help with the idle and get it back to the smooth idle i had before i cleaned the TB

Yes,you are correct about the idle screw....this{2.5 turns} is the starting point, then fine tune its position to obtain 600-700 rpm idle in park when fully warmed up.

Cleaning the TB shouldn't affect the smothness of the idle.

Have the gaskets on hand when you clean the IAC.
