I own a 1995 Nissan 240SX SE and want to clean the insides of my headlights. I'd cleaned the outsides well but they still look old and faded. Is there a way to open these light assemblies or does anyone know of someone that specializes in this type of work?

Oh, BTW, I've already researched in looking for a replacement set but new ones are way too expensive and I'm having difficulty finding a used set. Thanks for any assistance you can provide! :)

I don't know of anyway to clean the inside of a headlamp. But I had a 88 Sentra that the outer lenses came off and I cleaned the sealing edges with brake cleaner and resecured them with a bead of clear silicone sealer. This might work if you can separate the outer lense from the housing. I don't know of any chemical that can be used to clean the inside without disassembly of the headlamp.

i've heard of putting the entire headlight assembly in the oven at like 300 degree's for about 15-20 mins, then carefully prying apart the outer lens from the housing. then you can re-seal it with whatever. i haven't done it, but i might one of these days.
