try a quick search on this, i asked a similar question and one of the moderators told me to use some type of lubricating cleaner, i guess it was an equivilent to wd-40 or pb blaster.

i have had a little trouble with a set that i bought, so i have had to take them off my car. while they are off, i took apart all of the removable pieces (make sure to losen the spring first =) and just rinsed them off in my sink and dried them. before i put them back on my car i plan on shooting all of the threads with some type of lubricator.
