Hey, I'm doing my headgasket and just had my head resurfaced. Head is good no cracks, and bottom end seems to be good. However, my HG was f'd, and there is some orangish coloured stuff on 2 of my pistons where it was leaking white smoke. Its no biggie, it almost comes off with my hand, but I just want to know;

What should I use to clean the surface of my block where the head gasket will sit, and what should I use to clean up that stuff on my piston?

Just wanna do things right the first time.

Thanks.

please do not take this as me being a d!ck but do you honestly feel confident about doing this job?

If so, some clean rags, not a towel.gasket remover (spray on) razor bladebrake clean

use this stuff on whatever gasket you use, nice light even coats till its evenly covered
