Before you ask...I searched and didn't find the answer. Now that I've installed new shocks/struts, boots, upper links, steering rack boots, new tires and various bushings I need to get an alignment. I belive that may be something best done by a pro. Every tire shop in town claims to down quality alignments. How do I determine who really does the best job. What questions should I ask of the mechanic before letting them loose on my Q.

By the way, the other day my friend asked me when the last time I actually carried my Q to the shop and I said....since I've owned it...never. So this will be the first time. I'm not skilled in choosing mechanics.

tough question knowing who to trust to spend the required time to try and get the specs right on, instead of " in the acceptable range". I would look for a front end specialist in your town, stay away from the chain tire stores.

Insist on before and after printouts, and I would be there to look at the final numbers before the car is removed from the rack to be sure you are happy with the job.Make sure you have gas tank full, and trunk empty.

A $20 can insure that the tech spends an extra 20 minutes.Starting at the rear getting thrust angle set up: Bisector line between front and rear toe.The rear camber bolts are usually maxed and worn, the problem is the rear subframe [minutely bent or twisted] and worn rear bushings.

Somebody who is use to Mercedes, BMW, Audi. Lexus RWD as few older US lux cars had RWD IRS.

Look at TR recommended installers in your area.

Most have Hunter laser alignment rig and 9700 balancer. Read the user feedback and visit the top three.

My first requirement is an excellent alignment machine, such as the Hunter Laser. I have also found that good alignment places generally have very neat, clean work areas. Not a rule, but an observation based on experience.

I use a small place that is focused on suspensions and alignments. They do a real test drive after their alignment - and I have seen them bring it back on the machine for a tweak (my car has a cross-camber :-( )They spend a full hour. And charge a little more (but less than the dealership).

If you were in San Jose, I'd send you their name!

Another local shop here I would trust does lots of corvette work and customizes suspensions.
