how to check ECU codes

Im a rookie in the 240 column, however do have import boost experiance, i just bought a 90 240 last weekend and im not gettin good MPG. plus wires and filters all replaced and im just wondering how to check the ECU for its codes, is there a web site, i've looked for about half an hour now and come up with nothing. If one of u guys could tell me this then it would be a great help THANX
