Hello,

I need to replace my steering rack bushings, and I was wondering if anyone knows what is involved with doing that? Is it a simple task? Do I need to take apart my steering rack to do it?

Thanks!

FSM ST-12 gives you an idea of what is involved.

Four bolts that attach the rack to the motor crossmember; then you should be able to take the cover/brackets on the top side; remove the old bushings; install the new; re-install the covers/brackets; torque the bolts down 65-80 ft/lbs; get your 240 aligned.

Viola... S13 Steering Rack Bushing Install zerothread?id=213930 It's easy, an excellent "cut your teeth" experience for the begginer shadetree mechanic. This is one of the first things I did when I first started working on my car.
