How to Change Part of the Clutch Without Pulling the transmission...

My dad has this problem with his clutch:the part the engages the throwout bearing is broken. As a result he can't put it into gear or shift. We are pretty sure that it has fluid and everything and it is just this part that needs to be replaced.

I read on some chevy's you can get to it from the engine side, I was wondering if this was true with the z32 and if so how do I do it. Otherwise I will have pull out the transmission which I don't want to do.

Sorry to tell u but ur gonna have to pull the transmission. Its not that bad of a job aslong as u can raise your car off the ground a foot or more.

Agreed, the throw-out bearing fork can only come out from the inside of the bellhousing. May as well do the rear seal and check the wear on the clutch while you are in there. Not a huge job, the worst part will be if the exhaust hasn't been off in years. You will need to disconnect the TB hoses and the upper rad hose as the engine needs to be tilted back a little so you can get to the top trans bolts, which is easier done if you have a 2' or 3' extension and swivel for your ratchet.

If it is the pivot ball, it can be changed without transmission drop.
