Hey all,

I have a 11 M56x the bank 1 sensor air fuel oxygen sensor needs to be replaced.

I took it to a mechanic he said he would have to remove the exhaust to install it.

That seems very odd to me, so i didn't go ahead with it.

Is there an easier way to instal the bank 1/1 sensor?

Yes. It's a PITA to get to which is why I never changed those on my 07.

wow, good to know. I guess he was right lol.

If its 1 B1 that would be an A/F sensor, which is different from the Oxygen sensor?

A/F Sensor 1 (B1 or B2) - 22693-1MC0B - ~$190
Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 (B1 or B2) - 226A0-ET000 - ~$190

They are technically one and the same, just serve different purposes. A/F sensor is what the engine uses to tune itself, the heated one is what it uses to verify emissions efficiency (that the cat is working).
