It's easy, just a little tight of an area to work with. Unhook the negative battery cable from the battery and then remove the starter bolts and starer power connector. I think I did all the work from underneath, so blocking the tires, lifting your car, and securing it on jack stands is the way to go.

I find it easier to remove it from the top myself. Let me re-phrase that: unbolt, disconnect, and then drop to the ground. There are 2 14mm bolts that run from the transmission into the starter/engine, disconnect the signal connector. It should have a bracket that holds it to the intake mani brace, and unbolt the main power line. It should be a 12mm nut with a rubber boot covering the connection.Installation is reverse of removal.

the goods news is that it seems very hard at first, but once you've done it once it can take less the 15 mins.

jack it up

and use a 14mm open wrench to remove the bolts on it.

yeah those arent too bad on the KA. two bolts and minimal wiring. not too bad of a location either. my isuzu pickup had the starter located in the wheel well.

but i lost a one valve gasket screw to the right side of the valve coverits still drivable right?

jw to see if i need to find it or just w/e because i know a tight seal is needed
