How to change oil?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Remove the plastic belly pan and you can get to the oil filter. I haven't done this car yet because the dealer charges $40 which includes a car wash and vacuum; being lazy I let them do it.

Look at the manual and you will find the jacking points. I bought some race ramps several years ago and use them when I do oil changes.

thank you for your help and please forgive my ignorance but I can only find the side jack-up points. I'd like to know the position of the front jack-up of the car. I wonder if they cover everything to prevent buyer from doing by themselves.

Welcome to NICO, ramprun!!

I'm not aware of any recommended "front jack-up" locations, but it's much safer (and quicker) to follow the advice from jmess and use ramps, rather than jack up the car to do oil changes.

Cheers,David

thank you for welcoming me to the forum. I followed your advise and bought a pair of ramps. I bought K&N filter for my EX, however, I wonder how good it is because the K&N filter is smaller than the nissan filter i took out.

I was also looking into using the K&N drop in filters as well. Let me know how you like them, once they're installed.

i notice no difference in performance after installation of K&N filter. This probably the last time I will use K&N filter. For what i paid for the filter, I expect it to be at the same size or bigger than factory filter.
