One of my headlights burned out and I'd like to switch them over to HIDs. How do I get in to change the bulbs? The owner's manual says something about going from under the engine compartment.. is this necessary? Thanks!

Here is a link on how to change the fog lights....they are right below the low beams....I would just use the same process. If you already have HID headlights and want to upgrade that should just be a matter of buying an aftermarket bulb. If you are going from standard Halogen lights to HID...it might be more of a challege.

Here is the link for the install...http://www.auto-talk.net/how-t....html

What other steps are there from going to a HID from a stantard bulb? I thought you had to get one of those conversion kits but everyone I asked just said just to buy the bulbs.

You would need to get a conversion kit. HID uses a high voltage setup and this can get pretty pricy. FYI...a standard halogen system will not work with HID Xeon bulbs...you will need to get the kit and the Xeon bulbs....I would guess that would be around $1000 or more....the bulbs alone are 350 each. Check around maybe someone in the forum has made this change and might have better advise.

You might try getting some PIAA aftermarket convensional bulbs....had some on my 98 Maxima and they looked really great....would be much cheaper too!!!

Also try a search on HID....there are a few excellent posts on the subject.
