Okay,

I'm curious how to completely bypass the EGR system without having to remove it?

My EGR valve solenoid has malfunctioned and continues to throw a code (105) at my ECU. Replacing it would be my last option, but ultimately the system will be removed/or replaced later on down the road.

Even after removal, will the Check Engine Light come back?

Will putting the right resister on the EGR Temperature Sensor harness plug, to trick the ECU in believing the system is functioning properly, stop ALL/ANY future EGR system related codes?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have the resistor in my harness for the egr temp sensor and all the vacuum lines capped off and egr valve removed and haven't had any cel on my fwd sentra..... Couldnt be much different.

Nice! What I really want to know is:

Would adding a resistor to the harness alone, NOT send any signal to the EGR valve solenoid, to tell the EGR BPT, to open/close the EGR Valve?

I think it still will tell the solenoid to operate. All the resistor does is tell the ecu that the temp coming in from the egr tube is rather correct, (within a certain temp range) or not correct. Other then that, I don't think there id anything else that tells the ecu your egr is bad. instead of removing everything I put a copper plate that looks like a gasket in between the egr and mani. Then put a b b in the vacuum line to the solenoid. Id you are in a area where smog testing tests for nox id just get the egr working properly.
