I have power fc, 555 injectors, z32 maf

do I let the tuner do all the work or can I install any of these myself prior to the shop visit without risking blowing something up due to detonation?

Install it all yourself, then drive it there or tow it there. I believe the pfc has pretty decent stock maps so you should be able to drive it there at a leisurely rate with no problems. Just stay out of boost.

Go to a dyno meet and sign up for the end of the list. Show up early and install it parking lot style. That crap could all be installed in under 2 hours, and if something goes wrong, your at a car shop with dozens of other car people who can help.

i THINK xs engineering (i was flipping through your website) will also require a leakdown and compression test done before tuning. this is all hearsay, though, but it's also from a reputable source (although the cars we were discussing were far from street cars)

just something to be prepared for.

good luck!

The 2 hours is assuming your figuring all this out for the first time. Just use crimp connectors (temporarily) for the MAFS.

assuming I install all the goodies and drive there, I will be running rich and it's only poor gas milage and it won't blow up, right?

I am also under the impression that the zmaf will cause the car to stay in limp mode
