Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

So I've got a freshly rebuilt KA that I'm trying to quiet down. I want to do everything I can before going back and taking the block apart again, obviously.

The lifters I believe may be the reason it's making so much noise. How do you go about bleeding these ****s?

Also... blowing black smoke. Any reason you can think of as to why she's running so rich? Definitely didn't do that beforehand.

Only difference in the motor really besides all new gaskets and whatnot is 8.5:1 forged pistons and rods.

Ka doesnt have hydraulic lifters bud. Cam over bucket design, nothing to bleed. If your knocking, you have other issues. If you think its coming from your head, you could have either A - Assembled the head a different way from the way you took it apart or B - Changed cams or had a valve job where they didnt check the cam to bucket clearance.

You didnt specify, its not my job to do research on you and your car. If your talking Ka, its assumed your talking DE unless you specify. You know how many people run swapped 240's?

Regardless i know little to nothing of SOHC's and have no desire to get any hands on knowledge, never will.

They are called FSMs, you still fail.

Assuming is what makes you an idiot. I'm pretty sure everyone learns that lesson when they're about four.

If I'm talking about something your engine clearly doesn't have, maybe I'm not talking about your engine. A little research on your part wouldn't hurt, this is the KA24E forum, too.

Information in the FSM isn't complete.

Kinda like the assumption you made when you made your post, assuming we would know what motor you own? My 'assumption' was small potatoes when compared to yours.

An idiot? Your the only asking for the most basic information thats not only in the FSM, but has already been covered countless times. Theres even a freaken writeup on it in the tech section of this thread. Whats worse, is you have a 2k + post count without the basic knowledge on how to use this website! Ignorance is no excuse for that, ffs, thats just sad.

Check nuts.

Enough already. All he wanted to know was how to bleed the lifters. He needn't be told what he has or doesn't have based on your assumptions.

I too assumed. I assumed he wanted to know how to bleed the lifters. Yeah I know. I like living dangerously. I had stumbled on the the writeup a few days ago and pasted the link.No bud, no dud, no crudGive it a rest .Go for a drive and calm down

ka's (sohc) have self bleeding lifters, supposbly at high revs the lifters drain themself and get f***ed up or such in such

ive heard methods of soaking them in oil for awhile? but still. after over revving s*** will go back

your best bet is to too figure out a way to get solid lifterz, those r moniez
